Spring Trend Watch: Two Toned Ankle Strap Heels

Ahh, Spring. One day you think it's on the doorstep, the next you get six inches of snow. Hey, at least there isn't a snow boot shortage (unless you live in on the east coast). In any case, back to Spring. We're already seeing the spring runway fashions on the streets when weather permits. And one of the big trends we're seeing is two-toned ankle strap heels.

The great thing about ankle strap heels is the support, and the wonderful thing about having two colors is, well, more colors! Buying your favorite heels in two tones means you no longer have to buy them in both colors for them to work with both outfits. Make sense?

Without further ado, we give you some of our favorite two-toned heels for the Spring season.

Maybe You Shouldn't Wear Heels to Disneyland

As much as we love our heels, as much as putting our "best foot forward" is one of our vital beliefs here at Clickless, as much as being fashionable matters, it might not always be appropriate. If you're walking Disneyland with your family all day long, your feet may get a little uncomfortable.

Take this endearing clip from Modern Family wherein Gloria refuses to sacrifice her heels to meet Mickey, Minnie and the gang. She is clearly in pain, and it's affecting her mood. In a heartwarming moment, Jay brings her a pair of slipper heels from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and she is walking on air.

So hear this, dear readers. Fashion is always first, but there is a time and a place. We can't help but think if Gloria had been wearing her Clickless she may have had less to complain about. At the very least, she would be able to protect those little babies from the damage of walking around on harsh surfaces all day.

Christian Louboutin Widens Spectrum with New Shades of Nude Heels

Christian Louboutin may be known for the red soles, but another color has brought the designer into headlines this month. Specifically, the shoe company has announced the release of multiple hues for “nude heels”, which have previously and globally been matched to white skin only.

The best message to come out of this story – one that’s long overdue – is that people of color can, on a wide scale, afford to spend $600 to $1,000 on a pair of high heels. The fact that it’s coming from one of the top designer high heel brands hopefully means that there will be a trickle down effect and this will be the new norm after some time.

Louboutin’s nude heels will come in five different shades that range from “fair blush” to “rich chestnut”.

Nude heels are a wardrobe staple, because they have a leg-lengthening effect, and they match just about anything. And now, women of all ethnicities can feel these benefits because they can get a pair to match their skin. Why this is just now happening in 2013 is beyond us, but we’re glad it is.

Not sure which color to pick? There’s even a Louboutin Shades app on the iTunes store.
